Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick Minimum Wage Increase

Updated: Mar 2, 2021

Hello New Brunswick! Do not forget that the provincial government is increasing the minimum wage to $11.75 per hour on April 1, 2021. The current rate is $11.70 per hour.

Be sure that all payroll records, hours to be processed and employee information is updated on April 1 to reflect this change for affected employees.

As well, the new PWI minimum wage will be $13.00/hour effective April1, 2021.

And....

While we are on the topic of wages, did you know that in PEI you may qualify for wage support for summer youth employment?

Qualified private sector employers can receive up to 50% of the minimum wage for summer students. Applications must be received before March 21, 2021.
