P.E.I. transition plan- what dealerships need to know.

Like many other provinces, Prince Edward Island has announced their transition plan to ease public health measures.

Effective February 17, 2022, the MOVING ON: Step One phase will be in effect.

In addition to multiple public and personal changes, the province has also announced some changes for businesses. Step One includes a retail capacity restriction of 50%. with space maximized to allow for people to spread out as much as possible. They are also allowing for no isolation for fully vaccinated travelers arriving in PEI ( with testing) so this may also impact staff availability.

Moving On: Step Two is estimated to come into effect on March 17, 2022. This will include a retail capacity limit of 75%, with space maximization to remain as per Step One. Testing of travelers will also remain in effect.

Moving On: Step Three is estimated to come into effect on April 7, 2022 and is anticipated to include further relaxation of measures throughout April. Examples of what this could include are no required masking indoors, no gathering limits, no testing upon entry. The aim will be to phase out all public health measures at the earliest possible time.
