Ontario moving to next phase of reopening

On February 17th, 2022 the next phase of measures will be eased. Effective February 17th, there will be multiple changes to public health measures, some key changes for dealerships to be aware of include:

  • Capacity limits will be removed for facilities that are part of the opt-in program for proof of vaccination.

  • Capacity limits for retail settings will be changed to the number of people that can maintain the 2 meters of physical distancing.

Effective March 1, 2022 the province is planning on the following additional changes:

  • Proof of vaccination requirements will be lifted, however businesses may choose to continue to require proof of vaccination.

It is also worth noting that the use of masks will continue to be required until further notice.

As measures are relaxed, staff and patrons may all have additional questions. be sure that your staff are well informed of the current requirements and that management is able to address any concerns or questions that may arise. Employers still maintain their obligations under Health and Safety legislation. As well, various legislated clauses, such as those in the ESA will remain in effect until the "COVID -19" period ends. The temporary ESA rules are currently set to end on July 30, 2022.
