Ontario Gradually Eases Public Health Measures

The Ontario government has announced a gradual easing of restrictions. Many restrictions related to personal gatherings and outings, however some restrictions easement will also impact dealerships.

Effective January 31, 2022, retail capacity limits will be increased or maintained at the 50% capacity level. All other requirements will continue to apply.

Effective February 21, 2022 capacity limits will be lifted for any indoor public setting that has chosen to participate in the opt-in to proof of vaccination requirements. Limited capacity in remaining indoor public settings where proof of vaccination is not required will be set to the number of people that can maintain two meters of physical distancing.

This may require dealerships to ensure that floor markings and other social distancing guidelines are clearly visible and updated.

Effective March 14, 2022, Capacity limits in all indoor public spaces will be lifted. Proof of vaccination will be maintained in existing settings in addition to other regular measures.

The easing of restrictions and measures will also include local and regional responses by public health units based on local context and conditions.
