Effective May 5, 2021 Alberta retail operations requirements have changed.
The allowable capacity for retail operations in High Case Regions of Alberta is now as follows:
Retail – Effective May 5
Retail services must limit customer capacity to 10 per cent of fire code occupancy (not including staff) or a minimum of five customers.
The 10 per cent capacity limit at shopping malls will exclude common area square footage.
Curbside pick up, delivery and online services are encouraged.
Be sure that you are staying up-to-date on these changes and refreshing staff on proper protocols around customer spacing and managing wait lines in your customer facing areas.
These restrictions are scheduled to be in place for a 3 week period and apply the high case regions listed here.
